I’ve just finished the European Cup final in England. It was a tough race but I advanced to the fourth place. In the total result of the European Cup in speed 2011 it got me a third place. I’m very pleased with my overall performance in the race and now I’m reloading for the upcoming season!
Final spurt in the European Cup 2011-09-29
On September 3 to 10 I competed in Germany with good results. The contest lasted for 7 days and I stopped at a nice 3rd place out of about 80 started. The weather was mixed and two days we had about 10-11 meters per second and the other two days 15-18 meters per second.
At the moment, I’m on 3rd place in the European Cup with one race remaining. If if I succeed in my last start this year in England, it might result in a nice finishing position in the European Cup.

Daniel is second in the European Champion speed tour 2011 2011-06-13
During the first weekend in June the swedish part of the speed surfing European Cup was held. The competition was held in Klagshamn, Skåne.
Besides the Swedish Cup is was also an International race between Sweden and The Netherlands. A total of 40 sailers from six countries participated in the race.
The five days long competition began with sun, warmth and windless. Late sunday the wind turned to southeast and picked up to more than 10 m/s. We realized quickly that the race was between Kungsbacka and Växjö and not Sweden VS The rest of the world.
The four first sailers took turns coming first or second in the different heats.
The contest was to sail as fast as possible at an inflexible 250 meter distance and the average speed from all sailers two best distances counted together per heat. Daniel won one of the counting three heats and went second in the European Cup and third in the Swedish Cup.
The European Cup holds three more races, in Germany, England and France.
The three best times is added up and the winner is the European Champion.
21 st of May is the premiere Speed Cup. 2011-05-17
The competition on Öland is the first event in the Swedish championship series.
I have been there as much as I can to train in the conditions that they have there. It feels quite good with the new sails so I hope to be at top 3. I will be back next week with the results.
Weymouth speek week, world championship and Egypt 2010-12-23
In England at Weymouth Speed Week on the 16–22 of December I was first after three days but got problems with the equipment and ended up 9th.
I went down to the World Championship in France and was super psyched but because of poor wind, the race could not be held.
On the world ranking list 2010 I ended up in 19th place.
On the 15th of March I go to Egypt for two weeks to get the equipment into shape for the coming season.
Egypt next 2011-11-30
We are still planning for the 2012 competition calendar. But we do know for sure that we in March will go to Egypt for training. We will practice hard and test the sails.
Final start for this year 2011-09-29
The final start this year takes place in England where I travel on October 13. The contest runs October 15 to 21 and consists of two competitions. First, I compete in Weymouth Speed ??Week and partly in the European Cup final.
Weymouth Speed ??Week is an funny race with many innovative means of travel on the water. It is a contest where all participants compete on equal terms, they just need a sail to get around with. Every day it is a race with first laureates. The participant with the fastest average speed of 500 m during all days of competition is the winner of the total Cup.
Daniel competes in speedsurfing 2011-07-15
In the last week of July and the two first weeks of August a popular windsurfing race is held for the second year, and Daniel will be attending. Mostly for fun but some tough challenges will also take place. Every speeder in the world is welcome to attend. The event will be held for three weeks (July 25 to August 14) and a new king will be crowned every week in this paradice. Easy, as windsurfing should be.

Training schedule:
Windsurfing takes an awful lot of stamina. A competition can last 4-5 hours. I keep up my stamina by training on my rowing machine. The rowing machine also exercises all the muscle groups that you use when windsurfing.
To get my aerobic fitness up, I go for a spinning session. Other types of training that I use to stay in peak condition are roller skiing and speed walking. To keep my body fit all year round, I train 4-5 times a week, with each session lasting 1½-2 hours.
Diet:
However, there is more to it than just the training. I also think carefully about what I eat. My diet is varied, although I do tend to focus on food that contains plenty of protein and carbohydrate, such as pasta, meat and potatoes. On top of that, I eat lots of fruit and vegetables.
